Sandi Last Week

Friday 9th September - 'I'm 80 you know, and I can still eat a boiled egg.' Alkarim

TOPICS TODAY: Shakers -nice furniture, weird religion, Kentucky Fried Communism.

Alkarim was Sandi's chum today. Albert Jack who's written 'Shaggy Dogs and Black Sheep' (Penguin) which offers the derivation of common sayings. Here's a few below for you:

Lights on, door open, nobody at home As confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar. He's as bent as a butchers hook He's as happy as a Pig in $hit About as welcome as a fart in a telephone box About as subtle as a flying brick She's got more wrinkles than an Elephants scrotum She's more nervous than a long-tailed dog in a room full of rocking chairs As tight as a Camels arse in a Sand-storm

Thursday 8th September - 'Would there be less litter in London if blind people were given pointed white sticks?' - Sandi.

TOPICS: Censorship, inappropriate art, was Jesus gay? Irish prostitutes and do penguins have knees?

Annie Caulfield was in the chicken coup with Sandi who explained as a good journalist she always checked her sauces - brown for sausages and red for chips. Sandi also discovered that battery hens are rubbish in a radio - not only are they hard to get in but give out little or no electricity.

BOOKS:The Planets By Dava Sobel (Fourth Estate) Fried Egg with Chopsticks by Polly Evans (Bantam)

Wednesday 7th September - 'I remember everything by dental accidents' Adriana Trigiani

Dillie Keane

TOPICS: Barbara Bush putting her foot in it, the Mercury prize and pets.

Dillie Keane (above) and Adriana Trigiani were the stars in Sandi's universe. Dillie is about to appear in 'Little Women' (see cartoon) at the Theatre Royal, Dury Lane and Adriana has just written a new novel Rococo (Random).

Tuesday 6th September - 'He got excited every time he heard next doors Jack Russell bark' Sandi

TOPICS TODAY: Theatrical disasters, Babs Windsor, back to school and bestiality.

Zoe Lyons (who was once an evil Nun) stood guard while Sandi got away with another show. Sandi spoke about grannies ashes being left at a charity shop (it's what she would have wanted) and that Leonardo da Vinci never married.

Monday 5th September - 'If we did a broadcast from the London Eye would it be a Podcast?' - Sandi

TOPICS TODAY: Adultery (see cartoon) Women's Institute, castration, Norway, Tobasco Sauce and Pledge Multi-Surface cleaner.

Bonnie Langford was in along with Tony Benn. Plans to turn Sandi's show into a medical phone-in were thwarted when we discovered Sandi's doctorate was in Philosophy. Bonnie suggested CatNav - radar for lost cats and tossed the caber.
